About the Owner

Mary Dobrowsky is an American from South Carolina who fell in love with her South African husband while studying in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She has a four year BA in Political Science and International Studies and is currently completing her Postgraduate Certificate in Education. However, her heart is set on pleasing others through the love of good food.

Mary discovered her love for baking many years ago when she helped her best friend make an Elvis cake for an old boyfriend. "We got our hands on an Elvis figurine and baked a cake that looked like a stage. The bottom tier was a rectangular layer and the top tear was in the shape of a heart. We put the Elvis figurine on top and decorated the stage with candied m&ms to look like stage lights. We had so much fun making that cake. Too bad the boy wasn't worth the cake!" Since then, she's found a great love in baking and sharing her favorite culinary treats with friends.

In 2012, Mary  began catering in Stellenbosch but has since moved to Bethlehem in the Free State and is spreading the word about her catering business.
